Failure to do so would result in a partial federal government shutdown, including authorization to issue new policies through the NFIP.

Since 2017, NFIP’s authority has been extended 30 times and allowed to briefly lapse on several occasions. An extended lapse of the NFIP will leave millions of Americans at risk and disrupt the purchase of flood insurance in more than 20,000 communities across the United States. Not only would Americans be unable to purchase new NFIP policies during an authorization lapse, but also property owners and renters currently insured by the NFIP would be unable to renew their policies.

NAR’s advocacy team has worked for years to ensure continuity for NFIP, including invoking a nationwide legislative call-for-action last year answered by tens of thousands of NAR members.

Looking Back at 2024: NAR Advocacy By-The-Numbers

5,000 Congressional meetings with NAR’s Advocacy team and Federal Political Coordinators held in 2024.

20 meetings with the White House and federal agencies about proposed regulations and other administration actions.

614 Community Outreach Grants and advocacy assistance applications awarded, totaling over $4 million.

Associations across 49 states and 1 territory received support for a variety of community development and fair housing advocacy, education, and engagement initiatives —marking a 54% increase in applications and a 36% increase in funding year-over-year.

109 Advocacy Everywhere Call for Actions to mobilize REALTORS® and consumers on public policy issues.

438 RPAC-supported candidates were successful in the 2024 election — a 97% win rate.

50/50 breakdown of Republican and Democrat candidates

85 NAR Issues Mobilization Grants totaling $14.6 million awarded to state and local REALTOR® associations.

$13.9 million spent on local and state Independent Expenditure campaigns.

[/vc_column_text][vc_separator css=””][vc_row_inner content_placement=”middle”][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][vc_single_image image=”7465″ img_size=”full” css=””][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”3/4″][vc_column_text css=””]

RPAC Update

As of November 30, RPAC fundraising reached 90% of its national goal, with $45 million raised at all three levels of the association and 118% of its federal disbursements allocation goal with $11.8 million raised at the national level.
